As an engineer and property developer, I promise that if you vote for me and I am elected to the House of Representatives that I will act as a TRULY INDEPENDENT and MODERATE VOICE for the people of Bass. I will not 'sell out' to either of the major parties, or to the Greens. I promise you that I will seek the views of as many people as possible in Bass on each issue of concern and make my mind up as to how the majority of my electors want me to vote - taking into consideration what I believe is best for Bass. You have a choice. If you believe that you have been sold out by both Labor and the Coalition, but view the policies of the Greens as too extreme and anti-development, then Vote 1 Sven for Bass.
Ben Quin is also standing as a moderate independent in Lyons, along with Steve Martin and Karley Nelson standing as independents for the Senate. If you as an ordinary Tasmanian really want to show how dissatisfied and angry you are about the way we have been treated by our State Government and Opposition - this is your chance. We can get the balance right. The election of 3 or 4 independent MHRs and Senators from Tasmania, and possibly one or two from other States would really show our lazy, arrogant and unimaginative party politicians that the Tasmanian electorates are fed up with the major parties' lack of concern for the future of ordinary working people. If elected, I promise to work with other independents to do everything that I can to restore power to the majority.
